In studying for Phoday 15 Sunday extra for #Metronet opening Thornlie Cockburn Line. Throw back to Phoday #1, since I missed out on lunch only banh mi, at PHOever, Canning Vale.
Problem is snacking time eats into gunzelling time, which way to balance.

On the way to missaved in the #Phoday list, BMT Thu Nga in Rockingham. Waiting for the 555 rocket bus (RCCTS).

Surfing Lizard, Coogee Beef Angus Pho, standard size $28.80 Added chopsticks Added extra fried pork belly strips and mushrooms $8.00 15% public holiday surcharge, $5.52 Guess what's missing?... No mint, no beanshoots, no lemon. Only tableside with black pepper grinder, Himalaynian pink salt grinder, raw sugar container. Meaty brown but mild soup, more importantly lacking herbs and spices depth simmered in. Not salted too much, too little, not well either; inoffensive balanced for the whole of the dish. Thick slices of medium and rare beef. Lots of finely sliced spring onion, red onion slices, a few slices of red chilli. Fresh pho noodles, so they don't keep bite. Wide, shallow bowl, sea breeze, gets cold if you don't hammer the noodles down.

Surfing Lizard , Coogee, WA

Was a difficult one to get to after work Phodays, as they are a breakfast and lunch business on the beach. Then trekking pass million dollar homes with no dropped kerbs, City of Cockburn 🙄

They spent so much energy on the meat, they forget more flavours. Ok.

A croissant and slice of cold set cheesecake sits on a paper tray inside an insulated grocery bag. A receipt for Everyday Bread, Hamilton Hill: Croissant $6.50, Mango Cheesecake, $9.00, Shokupan $8.00. The croissant is dark and glossy. The cheesecake has a light yellow mousse, and dark biscuit base.

White balance is off in the captured photo, much darker crust irl. Big air pockets, loose and set laminations in the core of croissant.

Dark bottom of the croissant with distinct laminations along the bottom. Where most of the burnt bitterness is at.

While waiting for Thien Kim to open at 1600 #Phoday, I went to Everyday Bread in the same complex.
You can feel the butter oozing out the croissant as you bite it. But, I like dark viennoiserie; they have the idea, but not the execution IMO. It's burnt.

Cold mix asphalt being used by workers to compact into access ramps on both sides of the fenced off high kerb footpath of the service tunnel works. Fiona Stanley is visible in the background. There is extra fencing in the roadway of the Murdoch busway.

Excavations around pits on the south western footpath of Murdoch station bus bridge. A yellow fence surrounds the excavation, with taller galvanised fencing for the pedestrian diversion in the roadway.

Beef Pho, $17. Stuffed chicken wings (2 piece), $12 1.6% card surcharge. Lots of spring onion, lots of coriander, lots of sliced beef with a hint of pink, lots of beanshoots. Might be the first pho that is salted enough to not be overwhelmed by other dishes on the menu. Only hoisin and schriracha on each table. Dark orange skin of fried stuffed chicken wings, a bit dense. Served with a saucer of unmixed Japanese mayo and schriracha chilli sauce.

Ad hoc pedestrian ramp bashed in AFTER new service pits were dug and sunk at Murdoch station. Someone DGAF about accessibility and/or phasing of public space work. 🤌

#Phoday 7, Thien Kim Vietnamese, Hamilton Hill, WA. Annoying tasty and cheap food for people that don't turn on their aircon.

#Phoday 6, was going to Armadale. But after detouring via Claremont, I booked it to Secret Harbour.

The more I trek out to the suburbs for noodles, the more I hate MainRoads and local councils. This painted bike gutter is dogshit! These bus stops suck!

Beef pho, with medium-well done beef slices, and beef balls halves. Mint, beanshoots, TWO SLICES OF RED CHILLI, hoisin and chilli together in a sauce dish. $26.90. Sides ordered were batter Saigon chicken wings as 4 joints $11.90, and 4 prawn crispy dumplings $12.90 that seem handmade in-house. No condiments corner on the table. So the undersalted soup is overpowered by any other dish on the menu. Lacking spice infusion in the broth.

Pedestrain suspension bridge over Mandurah Road and Transperth's Mandurah train station. Linking the train interchange to Greenfields across the arterial road. The grip coating on the steel deck walkway has patches worn off and rusting. There is rust breaking through the paint on the structural bridge arch.

#Phoday 5, weekly search for pho south of the river. But I've not live bleeted 1-4, I don't vibe it posting on small screen on the day.
