This wine from the Palatinate (Pfalz, Germany) is like a lucid dream, you decide to explore the fruit's dimension and find its richly layered with red fruits. You decide to explore the spiciness and find a complex but restarained mixture of canella, cloves, allspice, oak wood and a very light touch of herbs. But you always come back to the core of this wine. Perfect harmony of fruit, oak barrel integration, still fresh acidity and a finish which doesn't want to end. For me the best German Pinot Noir - Spätburgunder from the 2015 vintage!

To find a dish which can compete with the 2015 Saumagen Spätburgunder from Ring Winery isn't esay. I carefully fry a small turkey steak that I have seasoned with Ras el Hanout. Sides dishes, boiled potatoes in their skin and champignons seasond only with salt and pepper. Very good match.
