Dr Siringan: in the Philippines, marine science is largely synonymous to marine biology. But Marine science is more than biology; it includes fisheries, oceanography, etc and needs more #PinoyScientists from diverse fields.

Dr Siringan: We need to push our science forward because as Filipinos, we're dependent on our marine resources. We need to know and understand what's in our seas so that we can manage these resources well.
