This is a #platycodon #grandiflorus
It's an interesting plant, originating from East Asia, can grow to about 2 feet tall.
The flower is a 5-pointed bloom but is a single petal, not 5 petals.
I have two - white and purple.
A photo of a white platycodon, also called balloon flower, just prior to the petals unfurling. The 5 petals are folded over into such a way as the veining creates 10 equal (though i have not measured them to confirm exactness) triangles. The viens spoke outwards from the centre. The plant, though white when open, is a very pale green. There are drops of dew upon the flower.
