Some rescued cats at the shelter we volunteered for had more than 5 toes, called polydactyly. I learned the word for the first time from my daughter. Snow White, a famous cat that Hemingway had adored, had the same genetic disorder. Her descendants of cats are still living at the Hemingway Museum. Blue Eye, a cat in our neighborhood, also has 6 front toes.

文豪ヘミングウェイが可愛がっていた有名なスノーホワイトという猫ちゃんも多指症、ヘミングウェイ博物館ではその子の子孫が現在も暮らしているのですって。
ブルーアイも指が6本ある。
