#PomasFire The fire is 3,370 acres per the perimeter uploaded to the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC), which is visible on the Watch Duty map under the Active Fire Perimeters map layer! The fire is prompting Level 1 Evacuations! Lots of smoke with this fire!

#PomasFire 8/10 Evacuations: In cooperation with the US Forest Service, Chelan County has issued a Level 1 Fire Advisory for the Holden Village, including the Rio Tinto Mine water treatment plant! The advisory DOES NOT include Lucerne, which is on Lake Chelan!

#PomasFire 7/10 Chelan County Fire District 8and the US Forest Service hosted a public meeting July 9in Entiat with a virtual attendance option! The meeting was well-attended by a very supportive community, both in person and virtually! A recording is posted on the Facebook site!

#PomasFire 6/10 Firefighters are using masticators, dozers, chippers and feller-bunchers to build and strengthen those containment lines extending from Tommy Creek to Shady Pass Road and Twenty-five Mile Creek! Fire conditions are expected to worsen later next week...

#PomasFire 5/10 Should winds push the fire through this combination of direct fire line and natural barriers, construction of an alternative containment line is nearly complete to protect homes and property in the Entiat! Fire spread in the area is Very Low at this time!

Hotshot fire crews have built direct fire line and installed fire hoses above the Mrytle Lake area to stop the fire’s southward spread down the Entiat Valley!

While the fire remains checked up those granite cliffs, fire managers have used air tankers with retardant drops on the ridgeline between Entiat drainage and Railroad Creek drainage to limit the fire’s potential to threaten the Holden area!

#PomasFire 2/10 Most of the recent fire growth has been in the inaccessible upper reaches of Ice Creek and Entiat River, surrounded by steep rocky cliffs with no safe or effective place to put firefighters! The fire remains at 0% contained and produces lots of smoke occasionally!

WILDFIRE UPDATE
Two fires are showing increased activity Monday afternoon. In the Olympics, the #BearGulchFire at Lake Cushman was mapped at 77 acres via IR flight about 2 hours ago. The #PomasFire is now estimated at 2,415 acres and is once again producing pyrocumulus.

The #PomasFire saw increased activity Monday evening resulting in USG air quality this morning as smoke traveled down the Entiat River. This afternoon, the fire is already showing increased signs of activity. It's currently estimated at 1,758 acres. #wawx #wawildfire
