Wanting peace doesn't mean committing to pacifism. Sometimes peace can only be secured by taking preemptive actions to show your enemies that while you want peace you will also fight back if attacked. That is what Israel is doing and must do in Syria.

We as progressives are happy that Israel has destroyed most of Syria's military equipment including most importantly their chemical weapons. This means they cannot be used to attack anyone whether it be Syrian civilians as Asad did, or Israel.
