"Socialism" is the idea that there are things we all own as a Society, such as parks & public roads.

No Founding Father ever claimed we are a Socialist country. But they did indeed incorporate a LOT of socialism in our government. #PromoteTheGeneralWelfare

Two broad reasons for government to provide homeless services:

The first is moral. Literally every faith tradition makes it clear how we must respond.

The second is utilitarian. It is a clear public health and economic negative for ALL of us when SOME of us are unhoused.
