Happy to see ATproto / PLC get out from underneath Bluesky, PBC. The protocol and supporting services need to be run by a neutral non-profit org.
I have more hope for the protocol itself now, but with a healthy level of skepticism.

Whether or not Bluesky is ruined by private equity doesn't matter. Anyone can remake the way in which we interact with the protocol.
We don't need Bluesky specifically to do that.
Its about time we start thinking in terms of #ProtocolsNotPlatforms moving into the future.

When future adversarial Blue Sky decides to suppress it, the #ATProto will be ready and we can just swap feeds, as it's designed to be easy. We can already use third party feeds. We have full control over our own algorithms.
