I want to know why Pastry Cream and #Dessert aka Stovetop #Pudding are both technically mostly very similar, but also named differently.

Christmas pudding recipe
I mixed together the ingredients for this year’s Christmas puddings. You won’t find a better recipe than this - thanks to Delia Smith. Overnight in the fridge and steamed tomorrow. I make individual ones as well as a 2pt one! Steam times vary from 3 hrs - 8hrs for the large one #christmas #puddings
A traditional British pudding - dead cheap and easy to make. 4oz pudding rice, 2.5oz granulated sugar, 1.5 pints milk (you will probably have to add more as the dish cooks and cools down) and a grating of nutmeg. Use full cream milk, semi skimmed or skimmed milk depending on how creamy/healthy you want your pudding to be. Add cream for a special treat. And a knob of butter to make it richer in flavour. We often had this as a child as it was really cheap and filled your belly!
And one for us Brits - a traditional rice pudding. Fantastic for cold Winter nights. No better way to use up the leftover evaporated milk from the pumpkin pie. See the recipe in the ALT comments. #puddings #desserts #ricepudding
