do you miss the #purpletrain?
Doesn’t have the same posting zing as #purpletrain :-(
No more #purpletrain, sadly
Lol near Glenbrook I just saw some purple cushions from #purpletrain seats which had clearly been ripped out and thrown from the train.
Seen from almost directly ahead, a Sydney Trains V-Set Intercity train arrives at Wentworth Falls station platform 1. The blunt nose is painted safety yellow with an orange strip above the cab. On the lower right a square blue plate reads "V1". On the right of the image is a disused track and then a row of London plane trees.
#purpletrain, one of the last few I'll be catching.
Last Sydney Trains V-Set #purpletrain run is scheduled for early morning on 30 January, apparently, although I can’t see a more official announcement than this Facebook local whingegroup. www.facebook.com/groups/15913...

Was looking thru my old pics for something else and rediscovered this one I took at Central, years back. Set split! Or … is it a double set split? 🤔 #purpletrain
A Sydney Trains V-Set InterCity train arrives at Wentworth Falls station. It's a double-deck train with fluted metal sides and yellow doors. The blunt nose is yellow too, with a dark orange section above the driver's cab. The train is emerging from the mist and the platform is wet with rain.

The Sydney Trains V-Set fleet is finally being retired. I have tons of photos of them, but this one really hits the mood.

A Sydney Trains V-Set InterCity train arrives at Penrith station platform 3 at night. It's a double-deck train with fluted metal sides, as always, and yellow doors. The blunt nose is yellow too with a dark orange section above the driver's cab.
#purpletrain, again.
Inside the lower deck of a Sydney Trains V-Set InterCity train. The first thing you notice is the purple* carpet on the floor, then the rows of purple 2x2 seats, then the off-white sides and ceiling. There are no humans to be seen.

Late at night on a railway station platform — in this case Sydney Central platform 9 — a Sydney Trains V-Set InterCity train stands ready to depart. Its fluted metal sides reflect the red signal lights as a passenger walks up to the leading car.
#purpletrain, finally.

Why does the Opel app say Wenty-Domestic is $25 when the ticket costs $31?
Anyway, since this trip is a rarity for me, I'm quite pleased it's a #purpletrain. This might be my last such ride.
I can't remember when I last ride the predecessor known as the "U boat".
#purpletrain from Blagdown. What an evening!

A NSW TrainLink V-Set InterCity train arrives at a station platform. Its blunt nose is safety yellow with an orange-red strip above the driver's cab. Otherwise it's silver metal. It needs a bit of a wash.
Usually all dry and you just get the whiff on #purpletrain
#purpletrain, and it's pissing down.
