Scratching an itch and creating a #Qt and #QtQuick friendly #Decklink library, basic sink where you can dump images, redirect frames from a media player/webcam and handle keying is done. Also a source that can be redirected to a video output for monitoring and frame grabbing to QImage:s.

KNewStuff window "Download New Wallpaper Plugins" displaying the "Application Wallpaper" plugin. There are two screenshots visible - one with htop and other with kweather as screen locker backgrounds.

In the end I found a way to make it 100% QML, so you can now just download it from Discover or KNewStuff and enjoy on your desktop 🙂

#Qt6 is in. I should probably upgrade.
But #QtQuick Controls 1 is gone. 2.x sucks: it doesn't pick up my theme, the widgets work different and the differences feel like the #desktop side was an afterthought.

What should I upgrade to? Is #Kirigami providing honest desktop widgets?
