HOW MUCH DO WE WANT TO PAY OUR CREATORS?: We are currently aiming to pay each published creator £30 for their work. In an ideal world, they would be paid a lot more. But, as STAND FAST is a brand new publication without much of an online presence, we’re unsure that we’ll be able to raise more money than that for the first issue of the zine. We would like to publish seven creators in the first issue of STAND FAST. This would come to a total of £210.

“FUNDING THE ZINE: We want to pay the contributing artists and writers for any submissions that get published. A crowdfunder will need to be created in order to raise this money to pay the creators of any published works. There is a terrible standard in the publishing industry where artists and writers (as well as other industry professionals) are expected to work for free. STAND FAST wants to challenge this standard by paying people for their hard work, even if we aren’t able to raise as much money as we would like to at the start of our publishing journey.
