This has to be my favorite quilt in recent makes—another one rescued from the orphan quilt blocks bin, and bordered with fabric by the amazing Jane Sassaman. My quilter did an impressive job of a tightly stitched e2e. #quiltsky #selvagequilt #janesassaman #quiltbinding

Amid all the horrible environmental and political news, here's my Quilt Binding Management System. It starts on the ironing board and spins on my add-on cone holder on my machine.

The binding being applied to a crumpled up quilt

Folds of bright orange binding with a textured crosshatch pattern is being sewn onto the edge of a quilt with a field of grass green fabric with half-circles in different colors and textures printed on it. Some quilting lines appear in gray on the surface of the fabric, but the quilting lines don't correspond with the half-circles- the quilting is in the shape of stylized martini glasses, swoops and swirls.

The quilt is resting on a woman's lap and contrasts with the pattern on her pajama pants. In the background, clips are holding the binding in place along the edge of the quilt, waiting to be sewn in place.
Handwork. So satisfying. #quiltbinding #handsewing #making #bigandbold #modcentury
