#OTD 10/3/2017 #RememberRCN -HMCS ATHABASKAN (3rd) paid-off. She is the last of four Iroquois class destroyers to be in service with the #RCNavy. At the time she was the worlds oldest active destroyer having been commissioned on 30 Sept 1972.

#OTD 27/2/1930 #RememberRCN -HMCS THIEPVAL wrecked on uncharted rock in Barkley Sound, BC. The Battle class trawler sank the next day after attempts to salvage were unsuccessful. The #RCNavy at the time was using charts originally produced in 1861.
