Thanks, @nandosigona for inviting me to teach a “Child and Youth Migration” seminar at the MA in Migration Studies. We used #mobilitymaps to reflect upon our own mobility trajectories, and it was fun! #RETRYproject

🗺️ A couple of weeks ago, I interviewed my fieldwork assistant Luxa. This is her #mobilitymap! It reveals how the real journey begins after migration and invites us to explore reasons, meanings and frictions of mobility after arrival. My map comes next! #RETRYproject

This is us, the #RETRYproject team! Luxa and I are both migrants but with very different trajectories, backgrounds and expertise. We spent the last few months training each other in each other’s worldview and are now ready to conduct #fieldwork in #Birmingham, #Madrid and beyond!

Goal of the week: make a nice little sketch of an impossible-to-use multilevel variable-geometry structure for life stories interviews. Done!☑️ The real version is also ready to be tested. Let's hope it doesn't explode #RETRYproject

Our #collaborative documentary on the lives of young #Roma growing up in contemporary #Europe has started with a funny online #training session on basic video-making skills.

Throughout 2021 two participants will make videos of their everyday life. Stay tuned! #RETRYproject

Last week, after 4 years, I resumed the work on a paper addressing the incorporation of #homeless Roma #migrants into the @EKO_Carabanchel anti-eviction movement in #Madrid. What started as #EngagedResearch now has the bitter aftertaste of #ExtractiveResearch. Why? #RETRYproject

Para-ethnography is about "epistemic partners" providing ethnographers with a compass to define imaginaries and plots of research. Leonard is co-researcher for #RETRYproject and has the ability to make ethnographic research on #mobility in a context of #immobility easier and fun!

On Friday I had a first virtual meeting with the other 20+ participants in the Action Research Summer Camp #2020ARSC

We have started as online community, but we all hope to meet and chat and play and think and walk soon together in the offline world! #RETRYproject
