A RIFA capacitor removed from a BBC Micro. RIFA mains caps are notorious in pro audio circles for exploding, catching fire or similarly impressive feats of self-destruction. In this case, the capacitor has exploded after having stunk out the room with a smell a little bit like burnt apple pie gone horribly wrong. The expelled fragment of capacitor above it simply contains the RIFA logo. To the right is the C1 capacitor which has not ruptured but has a worrying number of cracks in the casing.
