Iron-hulled #ClipperShip #RMSTayleur sank on her maiden voyage, #ThisDayInHistory in 1854. Because the metal in the hull affected the compass, the crew thought they were headed south, but were instead going east and rammed #LambayIsland off #Dublin. Just 280 of over 650 survived.
