I just think the #Rockets have a lot of weaknesses for other teams to exploit and that the #Spurs are significantly better placed to do so than OKC are. Yes young teams lose in the playoffs, but they do that to wily veteran squads...not sure Houston qualifies on that front yet.
Fair, I agree that not having Adams hurts the #Rockets a lot more against the #Thunder than it would against the #Spurs. Thinking back to that Opening night game though, I felt like Hartenstein battled Steve-O to a draw there. I also think Playoff Wemby will be scary and someone to avoid.
Don't get me wrong, I would expect to see the #Rockets lose both matchups handily. And Caruso and Wallace picking pockets at half court and cruising in for a layup parade would be demoralising. I just think I can see the vague outline of a way to beat OKC whereas it's hard to see the same vs SAS.
- You _might_ be able to hide Sheppard defensively against OKC. I don't think he'll stand much of a chance against the #Spurs' guards (apart from maybe Harper?).
- Wemby will guard Amen and roam, at which point the #Rockets will not be able to get to the rim.
It's always a bit gauche to think about playoff positioning. You play who you play. But I've got to say, if I had to choose between being in OKC or San Antonio's side of the bracket, I think the #Rockets would prefer to face the #Thunder. Maybe controversial - keen to hear if people disagree!
