Alex does up his flies and tucks his shirt back into his chinos as Henry runs a hand through his hair. It still looks rumpled, and if anyone looked closely, they'd know exactly what they'd been doing to each other, but he looks neat enough to go back to the hotel. "Come back with me? Please?" Henry asks, offering his hand. Alex nods and takes it. As they leave the backroom, the man from earlier catches Alex's eye and gives an approving nod.

Snippet from an as-of-yet unposted Red White & Royal Blue fic by claremontdiazfox on AO3. Reads: “Henry can tell when the man looks away from him for the first time: the gaze he felt like a brand disappears. The man lifts a lazy hand to signal the bartender. "I'll have a whiskey neat, and he'll have another of the same," he says, gesturing to Henry's glass. A roil of heat burns through Henry: it shouldn't feel this good to be ordered for, to have someone decide for him without even asking his opinion. The stranger's casual ownership of him makes his pulse thud. He swallows hard. "I'm married," he says, because the man should know. "Then why are you here all on your own, sweetheart?" Henry wets his lips, trying to keep his breathing even. "Work," he says vaguely. "I'm going home to him tomorrow." The bartender slides their fresh glasses across the counter. The man thanks her, pays. Adds a very generous tip. Henry watches his hands as he passes over the bills. No wedding ring.”
