In the early hours of the morning of Sept 14, 2024, I had the pleasure of taking the very first run of the #RapidRideG line from its’ western terminus on 1st Avenue.

I decided to go ride that coach (6408) again today, wearing the same thing, to bring things full circle 🚌🔁🚌

Yesterday, an operator told me the 2023 XDE60 coaches procured for #RapidRideG service weigh 7,000 lbs more than the standard fleet spec.

Extra batteries, motors, and what else? Structural reinforcement to accommodate the left doors?

I emailed a vendor today about their electric drivetrain options.

Hoping their product includes an option for in-wheel/axel hub motors, because one of the #RapidRideG lessons is that rear differentials = wheel slip and premature tire wear, when operating in painted bus lanes on hills.
