We find inadequate measurement properties for both subscales in this widely used survey questionnaire on collective efficacy.

I'm concerned about the lack of common metrics in the social sciences. Advances in physical sciences is dependent on common metrics. #rasch and #IRT alone result in "local objectivity"- scales and units connected to assessment items. Linking instruments does not seem to be catching on.

I messed up earlier, assuming the output of tam.threshold() to be comparable to similar functions in other packages. But useful item thresholds were found in the tam() output object and I could rerun the simulation. Less bad for TAM, but still worse than eRm and mirt. #rasch #rstats #psychometrics

Rule of thumb cutoff values for various model fit metrics are ubiquitous in #psychometrics, despite evidence of the pitfalls with using them. I’ve added functions to my #rstats package to easily get correct simulation based cutoffs for #Rasch models. A brief example: pgmj.github.io/simcutoffs.h...
