A steep road ascending a hillside, in hazy weather. There are a couple of vehicles chugging along it, including a yellow AA van. The 'Three Shires Stone' marking the point where the historic counties of Cumberland, Westmorland and Lancashire meet is nearby, behind the camera.

Wrynose Pass, looking east toward Little Langdale. The modern road follows the Roman line between #Ravenglass & #Ambleside for much of the route, with some deviations. It is tough but spectacular going, by wheel, foot or hoof. (Note the AA van - a common sight!) #RomanRoadsFriday
