A weathered, armored hand reaches out to touch a wall of glowing blue ice, where the translucent image of a young woman rests on the other side. Her eyes are closed, her palm mirroring his through the cracked surface. A faint blue rune glows within the ice, illuminating both their hands. The atmosphere is cold, mournful, and suspended in a moment of aching intimacy.
From the moment his fingertips brushed the ice, a voice rang out from within.
'Please...do not...'
But how could he stop now, when even the thought of her opening her eyes ripped his heart from its immortal apathy?
