Jo Grady calling Queen Mary management "vindictive" for making deductions from UCU members taking action short of a strike: Jo Grady, UCU's general secretary, said Queen Mary's senior management had "launched a vindictive attack" on its members, "punishing them for taking part in lawful industrial action" and "cementing its reputation as the worst university employer in the UK" She said: "It is wrong to do this at any time and all the more deplorable as staff struggle to make ends meet in a cost of living crisis."

The dispute and the issues that underpin it desperately needs to be resolved. Staff in Unite who have worked for UCU for years are taking action - not a minority of “ultra leftists” or people with “vendettas” - staff who have supported us brilliantly & who care about equality & fairness #ReclaimUCU
It's not so much an 'internal row' as serial abuse. The power imbalance is causing the toxicity. As delegatee to Congresses and conferences, also members of the NEC we have both experienced and witnessed the toxicity. No wonder there are extremely high levels of sickness and absences. #reclaimucu
clauses are something I didn’t expect. Their use by a union that has made campaigning against them a big issue undermines the work we have done on gender based violence. Rather than smearing Unite UCU a better plan would be to talk to them, accord them some respect & change the culture #ReclaimUCU
