🌏 Red-billed gull, subadult (Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae scopulinus) 

A subspecies of the Silver gull (Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae), the Red-billed gull (C. n. scopulinus) is a medium-sized seabird, with a distinctive red bill and legs. Their upperparts are gray, while their underparts are white. They have a slender neck and a white head. These gulls are highly adaptable and can often be seen scavenging for food, including fish, invertebrates, and scraps. Red-billed gulls are social birds and can be observed in large flocks, particularly during breeding season. 

Conservation status: Declining (NZ TCS)

Distribution: Native to New Zealand.
