"Colorado Red Columbine Wildflower"
The #RedColumbine is wild and difficult to spot in the #Colorado Mountains in the summer. some have them in their garden. Either way it is a beautiful blooming flower. #Photography
#Aquilegiaformosa, the #crimsoncolumbine, #westerncolumbine, or #redcolumbine, is a common #wildflower native to western North America, from Alaska to Baja California, and eastward to Montana and Wyoming. Most of these were covered in aphids but I think they are still worth sharing 🙃
If you are gardening in eastern North America, Red #Columbine is an excellent addition for shade and sun. Pollinators love it, and you can share seeds with friends!
Note: Seeds require cold stratification and light to germinate.

Red Columbine blooms May-June primarily in or near forests, though they can be spotted on roadsides and gravelly shorelines as well. Keep an eye out for them now!!
