Councillor’s motion to halt EV bus purchases found out of order, tossed out Earlier this week, Coun. Clark Bezo took to social media saying he planned to introduce the amendment during the course of debate but it was found out of order to the meeting.

Despite indicating his intention to halt the city’s purchase of electric buses, Ward 10 Coun. Clark Bezo’s motion did not even make it to floor as it was deemed out of order.

Mayor begins third day of budget deliberations with amendment to bring mill rate increase to 10.73% Regina city council has a new forecasted mill rate increase for 2026 after an amendment put forward by Mayor Chad Bachynski to begin budget deliberations Wednesday morning.

A series of budget cuts and deferrals to a variety of city services were listed in his motion which will save the city $12.7 million in expenses.

City administration forecasting 15.69% mill rate increase in first release of 2026-27 budget documents Regina city administration has released its budget documents for next month’s budget deliberations and with it, is forecasting a mill rate increase of 15.69 per cent.

If approved by council next month, 15.69 per cent would be the largest mill rate increase in more than a decade and more than double the 7.3 per cent increase it approved for 2025.
