A digital illustration of Miguel O'Hara and Xina Kwan. He is carrying her over his shoulder through a crowd. She is flushed drunk and yelling 'Boo!' as he carries her without permission.
A screenshot from the story.
"Okay, you're done," Miguel says, doing his best to drag her back up. She fidgets, trying to edge her elbows out of his grasp.
"No!" she insists, angling and pushing against him to stand herself up. She fumbles before regaining her footing, warily attempting to withdraw her hands from him despite his continued support of her arms. "Why can't you just try to have a good time?"
"I am trying, Xina, believe me," he says, keeping his hands under her elbows. "It's a little difficult when I'm trying to keep a grown woman from ending up a pancake in the middle of the street."
"Could a pancake do this?" she counters, stepping back and lifting her arms away from him. She wobbles and dips before catching herself and straightening her posture. She lifts both arms up to her sides in victorious defiance.
"Very impressive," he retorts, hands on his hips. "I stand wildly corrected."
"No, you stand like this," she digs, bringing her own hands to her hips to mock his stance, popping a hip out for humiliating effect, a move which cause her leg to buckle unexpectedly under her; she flails, almost plummeting to the sidewalk, but he catches her by one arm again, and huffs in annoyance.
"Alright, that's it," he says, moving in to grab her by the waist; he hoists her over his shoulder with almost no effort, despite her vocal protests, and turns to continue walking towards the hotel. She slaps the back of his upper thigh as she dangles.
"Boo!" she shouts, inciting laughter from passers by as he continues down the sidewalk.
