Richard Lindner (1901–1978) was a German-American painter known for his unique blend of European Expressionism and American Pop Art, featuring mechanical, brightly colored, and often eroticized urban figures. Fleeing Nazi Germany, he settled in New York in 1941, working as a successful illustrator for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar before turning to painting full-time in the 1950s.
