Liquor Stores Fund e City of Richfield operates four municipal liquor stores. Total sales for the four liquor stores for 2024 are projected to be $13.45 million and modestly grow to $13.60 million in 2025, a 0.99% increase. Operating expenses budgeted for 2025 for the four stores total $2.54 million. This reflects an increase from the 2024 adopted operating expenses. For the four stores, the projected profit before transfers for 2025 is expected to be $746,173 with budgeted transfers the Special Revenue Fund of $475,000 and $374,490 to the General Fund for administrative costs, police duty and payments in lieu of taxes.

Local council races: On Tuesday, Richfield voters selected Walter Burk, Sean Hayford OLeary (incumbent) and Rori Coleman-Woods to represent residents on the Richfield City Council. Hayford Oleary is a current councilmember, serving alongside Mayor Mary Supple, and councilmembers Sharon Christensen, Simon Trautmann and Ben Whalen. Trautmann and Whalen will conclude their terms at the end of 2024. Burk and Coleman-Woods will join supple, Hayford Oleary and Christensen on the council beginning in January.
