Looking across a darkish dawn road in a semi-industrial/service area. The road is half dark with strips of remnant snow/ice/slush mixed with sand. On the other side across a snowy strip is a moderately large commercial building with a narrow warehouse looking rear part and a front area looking rather house-like. A couple of power poles rise from the snow, and there are several vehicles parked in front of the business. Farther on the road curves to the right and we see a few other buildings, whitish and blending with the shadowed snow. Farther still a ling of dark spruce is just visible against the gold of the lower part of the sky, with the brighter gold of the rising sun just visible behind the closer building. Higher up is a band of cloud angling slightly upward to the left across the sky, orangey gold edged grey giving way to darker slightly violet grey then fainter lighter wisps in the upper blue sky.
pt 1 Last week the car had to go in for urgently needed new tires (2/4: 2 more to be done when money permits). While the car was at the shop I walked to a couple of stores to get shopping done- + caught the #sunrise

From the moving car near sunset- a post and wire fence, with a wooden structure in the middle (possibly a chute for moving cattle through) borders a road-side ditch. Behind that is a wetland pasture with low grazed and snow flattened dry grass in front, and low reddish dark willows farther back, areas of mixed woods still farther. The sky fills about half the frame with a distant thunderstorm low in the sky across the entire frame. The storm is lit by the setting sun off to the right out of frame so the effect is a long dense white to faintly gold-pink wall of cloud, darker below. Some of it is large smooth areas with some of the classic bubbly cauliflower texture on edges and some fine darker ribbons in front. Above is blue sky with some darker wisps.
Looking from the moving car looking across a roadside ditch then barbed wire fence then pasture/hayfield with low cropped dry grass from last year all in dusk and cloud shadow. Dimly seen in the distance are a few scattered black cows, grazing. A little farther is a farmstead with a number of buildings, several pale/white, including a couple of large barns/sheds/workshops. The buildings are backed with tall silhouetted spruce trees. A little farther back trees stretch away in both directions. The sky fills a little more than half the frame. Around mid frame right, a line of dark blue-grey clouds mark outliers of a thunderstorm- smooth below marking distant rain, the upper part of this patch of clouds textured and wind directional. Near the photo's centre, the sun has just mostly set behind those same dark clouds, showing above as a band of pale gold topped with dull orange. Above that and to right, and all the way down to the treeline on left is a massive sweep of cloud like a giant moose antler, dark in the centre but thinning to wispy edges. A bit of gold orange showing between the lobes of the antler. Above the cloud and to each side is sunset dulled blue sky with faint bands of grey and pink lower down.

(7/20) - Rocky Mountain Heat by Vivian Arend
Looking from the car ahead in the parking lot exit at Canadian Tire in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada. To the right and ahead is a an embankment covered with snow, with a couple of patches of planted low Mugo Pines and youngish spruce, near silhouettes in the sunset light, and dusted wtih snow. Above the embankment ahead we see a roadway with a few passing vehicles, part of a carwash to the left, light poles and along the partly obscured horizon, looking south, some clouds pink-grey, the sky above not quite blue, with sunset tint.

Some distance away a fenced area runs parallel to the edge of the photo, behind it a few scattered bare trees and many snow topped round hay bales. Farther back woodland area begins, and in the distance craggy blue shadowed mountains are outlined against the sky which is mostly overcast with variable cloud, some gold to orange, other parts warm blue-grey light to dark.
From the car we see the dusk dark highway stretching ahead on the right. To the left we look across a snowy ditch, then fence, then field with distant dark trees. Nearer trees at the end of the field stretch across the centre of the image toward the highway. To the left a wide eye of bright sun peeks through medium dark blue grey cloud just above the horizon, casting orange tints on the cloud. The clouds above are fairly thick but a bit bubbly with lighter bits and hints of blue sky here and there. the cloud mass angles up from left to right, leaving a wedge of partly blue sky above the trees and highway.
Looking across a blue dark, dusk shadowed pasture, snow covered with lines and patches of dark vegetation showing through. The field slopes up to a ridge at the centre of the photograph, the ridge adorned with a narrow line of trees- mostly bare poplars and a few spruce. The last sunset glow is just visible through the bare trees, the sky aboe pale violet fading to darker blue above.
In recent years I haven't gone to town often except on workdays- shopping before/after work to cut driving. Sometimes though, something comes up between + things not open before/after work. A brief jaunt to #RockyMountainHouse this week, late afternoon #Alberta #landscape π·π #sunset #CountryLiving
Looking across the ditch, post and wire fence and a field of green and goldy maturing grasses with patches of wild flowers etc adding variations in colour and texture (white patches of Pussytoes etc). Stands of dark trees at the other side of the pasture and just visible along the horizon with the cloud covered sun sending golden shafts of light through the grey cloud right of centre and left of that a wide swath of gold-coral below a pillowy mass of blue grey cloud.
