I got some notes down for the story this month, and just thinking about it because of the questions you've been posting has helped tremendously! #RomComMarch

"And, Done! Share your reflections on #RomComMarch 2026" in black uppercase letters. The background is pale pink with red and pink scribbled hearts.
We can’t believe it’s the last day of #RomComMarch! It’s been such a delight learning more about your fantastic projects.
How is it going with your project? What have you learnt this month? We’d love to hear your reflections and to celebrate your amazing work!
"Almost There… What was your favourite part of writing this story?" in black uppercase letters. The background is pale pink with red and pink scribbled hearts.
There are only a few days left in #RomComMarch! Hopefully, you've been able to make some solid progress on your rom-com. What was your favourite part?
Even if the words haven't made it onto the page, maybe the idea crystallized, or you got the whole thing plotted!
"Forever After" in black uppercase letters. The background is pale pink with red and pink scribbled hearts.
Can you believe we’re this far into #RomComMarch? How did that happen?!
Where do you see your characters in ten years’ time? Twenty? What does their Happily Ever After look like?
"Comps Day!" in black uppercase letters. The background is pale pink with red and pink scribbled hearts.
This is an opportunity to share the comps to your book, and also to ask the #writingcommunity and #WriteSky for comp suggestions.
What other books and media encapsulate the vibes of your book? What kind of comps are you looking for?

In this current project, my favourite side character is the MC's mother! She's a huge part of the MC's life, a huge part of the story in a way. Her food plays a large part in creating the world and story (for me and for the LI). #RomComMarch
"Sidekicks: Who’s your favourite side character?" in black uppercase letters. The background is pale pink with red and pink scribbled hearts.
Sometimes, a side character can steal every scene they’re in, making us wish they had their own novel (or giving us inspiration for a sequel!).
Who’s your favourite side character, and did they/will they get their own happy ending?
#RomComMarch
"Let’s talk setting!" in black uppercase letters. The background is pale pink with red and pink scribbled hearts.
Where is your rom-com set and why? What’s your favorite setting — a city, a small town, somewhere you’ve lived, or a vacation destination? Is your setting a dreamy backdrop or almost a character?
#RomComMarch
"Go on… Spend a day!" in black uppercase letters. The background is pale pink with red and pink scribbled hearts.
If you could spend a day with any rom-com character, who would it be? One of your own creations, or the steamy cinnamon roll from your favorite series? What about them is so hot? Or if it’s just-friends vibes, why them?

" #PitchPossibilities" in black uppercase letters. The background is pale pink with red and pink scribbled hearts.
There are so many pitch events these days!
Show us how you’d pitch your book in a unique way: food, poster, soundtrack, or something more “unhinged”.

I love a good fake relationship trope, but I'm not doing one in this project! we do get 'friends to lovers' and 'working together towards an aim' though. and this is somewhat a grumpy x sunshine pair but the grumpy isn't that grumpy. she's just overwhelmed lmao. #RomComMarch
I had so much fun writing my (underwritten) first draft and then I realised a) I didn't actually give my MC more friends outside her LI, and b) there was SO MUCH I could have done to flesh out other characters, so editing is going to be rewriting. I hope it's as fun as first draft was. #RomComMarch
just because something is a norm/well-used trope in romcoms doesn't mean you HAVE to use it. write what you enjoy so that you're actually invested in your story. even if it feels contrived and silly! I realised if I'm not enjoying writing it, it's just going to languish in my drafts. #RomComMarch
I fell back into watching hallmark movies when I was undergoing an MS treatment that had me isolated (physically, bcos of how much my immunity dropped) & that feel good happy ending was exactly what I needed. & I wanted to write something like that. for myself and whoever else needs it. #RomComMarch
honestly, hallmark movies. just in general. i took a few hallmark beloved tropes and put it in a blender, added some desi-ness to it. i regret nothing, this is very much a self-indulgent project (as most of mine start off, tbh). #RomComMarch
I kept saying I was going to do #RomComMarch posts and I kept forgetting so. going to answer a few of those questions tonight!
"Gimme, Gimme! Favourite rom-coms!" in black uppercase letters. The background is pale pink with red and pink scribbled hearts.
Share your favourite rom-com (book or movie!) and why it’s your fave. What makes it shine?
Because our TBR piles aren’t tall enough 😬😬

"On-page activities… (No, not those!)" in black uppercase letters. The background is pale pink with red and pink scribbled hearts.
No, not _those_! Where do your characters spend most of their time? Do they have a hobby (or job) that defines them? Is it one of your own, or something you’d like to try someday?

'Around Zoya though? Around Zoya he was rigid, jaw tight. Shalini would have mistaken him for disliking her if not the fact that she was privy to the conversation behind a pillar – and the fact that now she was looking, she saw that so was he. At Zoya, constantly, eyes following her movements not with disdain or irritation or even worry but a deep intensity that could not be faked. An awareness of her that Zoya clearly felt as well if the way she never looked back was any indication.'
today's #wipwednesday is not the story i was planning to hype for #RomComMarch but fits the theme anyway. I do need to get back to it. A love story written in the POV of a third party has been so much fun to write.
