A gravel road snakes its way up to the mountain peak ahead. There's bright-white cloud drifting across the sky. There isn't much vegetation, groups of vicuña were seen harvesting what was available. At 4862 m / 15,950' breathing becomes a noticeable chore. We'll get out and take a slow stumble up a trail for 600 - 800 meters where we'll visit a monument / burial ground to the many who came and stayed here. Chimborazo is a stunning sight at every altitude.
