A traffic scene at a damp road junction with an overhead railway bridge and a giant metal sign in the shape of a cross as seen from the back, but would read "East Van", from the front, with the metal letters "East" vertically and "Van" horizontally so that the two words share the "A". Van is short for Vancouver. Two cars in the foreground are about to turn right, while traffic with headlights on as the cloudy sky indicates it is dusk, are waiting at the lights. A flock of crows are flying east to roost for the night as they famously do towards the city of Burnaby. Various businesses can be seen between traffic. There is a train, known as Skytrain, entering on the bridge from the left above which, trees, the hint of a distant city skyline, and a mountain range are seen. There are also very slim curved lamposts, almost with a dinosaur feel and two massive upright cranes stretching in the distance. Phew! A lot going on.

Happy #SkySunday! We went up to see the family for the weekend up near the mountains and as always, I adore seeing the sky from the rolling hills.

A somewhat spooky scene showing a perfectly round white moon with a blue "aura" shining brightly, illuminating a cloudy night sky that has shades of black, brown clouds lit in the otherwise darkness by the moon. The moon has been photographed through the busyness of the top part of a silhouetted utility pole that has two horizontal cross bars with many wires as well three electrical conduits. On the left foreground there is a top of a fir tree with the shape of other trees sloping down across the bottom of the frame towards the right corner.

A most unusual sight in the sky. A massive bright orange cloud dominates the scene from left to right, and right across the middle like it just rolled in (and trust me it did, very quickly, it was quite unnerving as I have never seen anything like it). It is surrounded by smaller grey clouds on top through which we see a hint of a blue sky. Directly under, what I call the demon cloud, because it does look like the end is nigh, is a blanket of whte cloud with more, even black grey clouds along the bottom.

This is kind of a strange image that captures a scenic sunset over a suburban neighbourhood, specifically showing a view of Mount Boucherie (West Kelowna). The sky features dramatic, colourful clouds illuminated by the setting sun while the neighbourhood below is beginning to get dark as twilight approaches. The sky which takes up 3/4s of the scene is stunning, as if it were a painting. With the backdrop of a powder blue sky, there are all kind of clouds of all shapes and sizes filling it - billowing, streaks, dots, puffy, some following the leader in a horizontal line, big, small, in shades of whites, grey, yellows & gold. The mass of land below is extremely dark, but you can see that there are many buildings built across the hillside they are on. A hint of pine tree silhouettes line the top of the hills - which were actually formed once upon a time from an ancient volcano.
