I couldn’t find the clean communion linen at Abbots Morton today but I did find a hand-written list of 1806 corn rents #CofE #RuralMinistry

I'm looking forward to telling some tales from my time as a rural vicar next week - I'm not the Vicar of Dibley but it sometimes feels like it!

Enjoyed the diversity of rural parish churches in @cofeworcester.bsky.social this morning. From the bizarre baroque splendour of Great Witley to the stark simplicity of Pensax, only accessible up a steep grassy path. Faithful people in both. #ruralministry

I could see my breath again for Morning Prayer. So cold.

Wednesday is the only day I get other human company to say the Office so it was warm in other ways.

Plough Sunday in Cawston yesterday was excellent. Even miserable weather didn’t keep folks away as we celebrated our farmers and processed the Magi through the village on my vintage Grey Fergie. #ruralministry #followthestar

I’ve just finished Tales of a Country Parish by Colin Heber-Percy, and it’s left me deeply inspired by the beauty, challenges, and importance of rural ministry. Here’s a thread exploring its key insights and why rural ministry remains vital in the Church today. 🧵 #RuralMinistry

We are based in a 'remote rural area' in Southwest Scotland (the Machars of Galloway) and I'd be particularly interested in connecting with others involved in the whole process of 'doing church' in this kind of area. #ruralministry

This morning’s little benefice eucharist: twenty-ish parishioners, one cathedral dean, one vicar, one small dog called Kai who joined in the hymns and went up to the communion rail for a blessing. Cracking sermon and There’s a Wideness in God’s mercy to my favourite tune. #RuralMinistry ✝️
