MLS takımlarından Seattle Sounders'tan yapılan açıklamada İngiliz futbolcuyla sezon sonuna kadar anlaşmaya varıldığı ve gelecek yıl için de opsiyon bulunduğu belirtildi. Seattle Sounders yöneticisi Craig Waibel açıklamasında, "Ryan Kent'i takımımıza katmaktan dolayı heyecanlıyız. Ryan hız, yaratıcılık ve tehlikeli bir hücum tehdidi olan üst düzey deneyime sahip bir kanat oyuncusu." dedi.
