Wasn't happy with the 'In A Can 2' text for the front, it had been quickly knocked up in my PCB software but just looked out of place. New PCB design made to replace it on the front of the 'SAM in a CAN 2' cases, now using the SAM font. Perfection!

VERIFY... Used *every* time I SAVEd something when I was using a #ZXSpectrum with cassettes from 1983-1993, but when I moved to the #SAMCoupe in 1993 and used disks I've never used VERIFY to check it SAVEd okay!

We've already got 6502/6510 emulation on the SAM Coupe for VIC-20 and partial C64 (.sid playing with my SID Soundchip Interface). How much of a stretch would it be to emulate the 6809? A topic to explore in a future issue of SAM Revival...

The keyboard also changed between this mockup and final machine. The 5 near-final prototypes of the SAM Coupe just used blank 1x1 keycaps + paper inserts. In 2021 I released a 'Prototype Tribute' mechanical keyboard in that style. I've some still available to give your SAM a unique look! #samcoupe

The only soundchip I had in the 80's was the AY, in my ZX Spectrum +2!

But I certainly appreciate the SID - it's such an awesome sound. I produce a variety of interfaces to use it on other systems - #samcoupe, #rc2014 and compatibles (including the #zxspectrum via a ZX-RC Bus Adapter I produce).

And in the 2020's 😜
Here's a quick SN76489 interface I cobbled together for the SAM Coupe along with coding a simple .vgm player to play music from the BBC micro. (Here playing a rendition of Supremacy converted from C64 to SN by Negative Charge)
