India and Australia have signed a massive ₹23,500 crore deal for 15 seaplanes, marking a major leap in defence cooperation and aviation manufacturing. The agreement strengthens maritime surveillance, island connectivity, search & rescue, and rapid response capabilities for India’s long coastline and island territories. A big part of the deal focuses on Make-in-India, with manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance planned inside India. This is expected to create thousands of skilled jobs, boost aerospace supply chains, and transfer advanced aviation technology to Indian firms.
