I completed Kaiyado's Großer Hund kit containing three models. Two are built OOB. The third one is modified with kitbashing and scratch building. I call it Wachtelhund and it is specialized in anti-aircraft defense. #scalemodels #MaK #SF3D

One of the charms of building vintage kits is seeing how the technology progressed. These limbs are trying parts separation but each are a step from complete… not enough clearance, or no support of poly caps at the bottom! The latter one is kinda weird #マシーネンクリーガー #SF3D #MaK #maschinenkrieger

If you’re looking to get into the Ma.K property the ARTPLA kits I think are a great introduction. Very straightforward builds with lovely details!

Final dry fitting to see thow everything looks. Next up is to get a coat of primer down. I’m thinking oxide red for the outer sections, and black for the engine and computer. Should be a fun and quick job!

Rough assembly on the little hund! Since she’s so small I’ll end up painting her as a whole instead of multiple subassemblies. I’m missing my dog a lot these days (she’s still in the 🇺🇸 for another week or so) so color scheme will be dedicated to her.

Also a good tip for anyone getting into Ma.K is to let loose with your painting. Let layers poke through, and leave edges showing. This helps to map out the weathering in later steps. Since the scale is so much bigger you have a lot of leeway so take advantage! Hope this ramble helps 😅

My favorite part of painting Ma.K kits, the “ugly duckling” phase! I’m using Vallejo Desert Yellow, thinned with the matching paint retarder and water. I’ll initially hand paint the base colors before going back in with the airbrush to tighten up the finish. #maschinenkrieger #sf3d #kowyokoyama #sf

Starting with the face. I sprayed a coat of Vallejo Matte clear to start. I then mixed some liquitex transparent burn sienna, with Vallejo Glaze Medium. This gives a good base to work off of from here. Time to dot the eyes in and then finish the skin.
