Last night, we closed #SHV30 in Salem—a place where many once gathered for comfort, connection, and strength during the eruption.
The SHV30 Street Part was a tribute to our shared journey.
Thank you, Salem, and thank you to all who came out.
Day 5 of #SHV30 was filled with powerful reflections and forward-looking ideas.
From resilient recovery and early warnings to volcano tourism and community-led heritage, the day ended with a shared vision for the future.

Day 4 at #SHV30 brought Kenya’s geothermal journey, powerful community science stories, a vibrant poster session, and an exciting Community Day with exhibits, vendors & a volcano movie night. One more day to go!
Day 3 of #SHV30 was all about exploration
From pyroclastic deposits to archaeological insights, participants hit the field to experience Montserrat’s volcanic landscape and layered history up close.

On 25 June 1997, pyroclastic flows from a sudden dome collapse at Soufrière Hills devastated several villages. 19 lives were lost, and 5 others severely injured. We remember them today and reflect on the impact of this tragic event in our shared history. #Montserrat #SHV30
