153 years ago, the #SSAtlantic ran onto rocks & sank off the coast of #NovaScotia. 535 of the 952 on board died. No females survived and only 1 child survived. It was the greatest loss for #WhiteStarLine at the time before Titanic took that title away.

The #WhiteStar #OceanLiner #SSAtlantic struck rocks off the coast of #NovaScotia on #ThisDayInHistory in 1873 and sank. 547 lives were lost, making it the worst White Star disaster until the Titanic loss in 1912. It remains one of the worst shipwrecks on the North Atlantic route.
