It's strange:

This art is from my part of an old TTRPG project I've left fallow for a long time, and I'm now folding into my future #SUMMONERTheWildHunt primal monster-taming #IndieTTRPG.

Back when I first made it, nobody really seemed to give a damn. Now...

Idk. It's strange in a good way~✨️

A Character Reference sheet for GENTRY PRIME, a multiversal traveler instance of Gentry Dolaan, who has been observing all the characters and instances in "Into the Gentryverse". He's a tan man with long hair done up in a loose manbun, with glowing cyan cybernetic glasses running along the bridge of this nose and cheeks, has white cybernetic arms and legs and wears fancy white scifi armor with a gray hoodie tied around his waist for comfort.

The picture also includes a small biographical section with some of his notable finds along the way (A fancy hand cannon, a strange magic knife bound to a fire spirit, and an arcane focus that lets him talk to the dead), as well as a section detailing the ontologoical cartography he uses to travel the multiverse which would be written here, but is unfortunately too long for the alt text section to encompass.

An ant-like fire spirit from SUMMONER: THE WILD HUNT, using burning red magic runes to control a wildfire burning through the forest around it.

Text superimposed over the bottom of the picture reads as follows:

Spirits Divine
Orah, we inherited much from Olan's Firstborn, for we are spirits of will, and while we received the greatest gifts that Sepu, Vena, Arde and Hela could bestow, we are not their only inheritors.
To protect the balance of nature, as their last act the great spirits gave back unto Olan their dominion over the elements of nature. This power, now separated from that which bound it together, shattered into many shards. Where these shards fell, they took forms of their own, rising up to serve Olan, their Creator. These are the many elemental spirits, and into their care Olan gave the wild places, deeps, and natural wonders of our world. They are our erstwhile kin. Our keepers. Orah, they are our jailors.

A Magazine cover of LIBER-TEA "The Citizen's Edition", with Gentry (a male helldiver wearing only some low-riding pants with a tool belt) doing a pinup on the front page, his butt crack barely visible between the lip of his low rider jeans and the tool belt hanging off his hips, and his pose both sultry and challenging. His robotic arms have segmented silver plates over each muscle group, tan synth-skin with visible mold-lines, eyes glowing with an unnaturally bright cyan backlighting. He's standing underneath a light source, not visible in frame, leaning against the leg of a machine, face turned back to look at the viewer with a defiant yet sultry glance.

A painting of a masked man in foggy woods. The man's pale skin is covered in dirt and grime, wearing brown furs, a simple green cloth tunic and hood, and a wooden mask. Over his head, he holds a sharpened wooden staff, glowing with the same green light that glows in his eyes.

Superimposed Text as follows:

A SUMMONER'S WEAPONS

While they are armed with the honed edge of their Will and the Divine Power of bound spirits, all Summoners carry weapons with them on their journeys. These are as much tools and symbols of office for a Summoner as they are weapons, Seeing as Summoners acquire quintessence on their wanderings, the weapons wielded by a Summoner are inevitably of superior make than those of ordinary hunters or soldiers, and are often imbued with the elemental powers of the spirits they summon and slay.

The best weapon is the one that suits your task, so it is Summoners often carry more than one weapon. SLAYING weapons are killing implements, while SUFFERING weapons injure and maim, slowing down Spirits, making them easier to bind. Some weapons are as simple as a sharpened wooden staff, others as complex as a torsion bow.

ORAH, all are useful, if wielded with wisdom and care...

There's a reason why in my #LEGACYTTRPG Core Rules, I moved away from a ton of hyper-specific items & introduced crafting meant to carry gear throughout the game in for my scifi game #LEGACYFirstFlight & my Primal Fantasy #SUMMONERTheWildHunt game.

Because you should never have to toss an heirloom.

A digital painting of a Planetary Outpost in "LEGACY: FIRST FLIGHT", The Last Omnitect's indie TTRPG Space Opera System. A starry sky, still fading with the pale pinkish light of dusk, illuminates a mountain range of brown granite and blue white slate. The slopes are dotted with evergreen trees and capped with snow. In focus at the center of the page is a small garage at the end of a plateau carved directly into the side of the mountain, clearly artificial but easy to miss amidst the stony facade of the mountain. Small circular windows have been carved into the rockface along the plateau, each a pinpoint of warm light, a sign of life. Tracks of wheeled vehicles are still visible in the dirt path leading up to the garage. And in the distance above the mountains, swooping in low, is the distance light of a lander's engines, arresting descent to lang nearby.

Super imposed under the image is a translucent black banner with the words "NARRASU III, Freemarch Planetary Outpost" on it. A logo, three interlocking golden diamonds with a white star in the middle: the symbol of a Union Freemarch Colony.

PANEL 4 of "GENTRY DOLAAN AINT NO FASCIST #26"

The panel zooms in on Gentry, silhouetted by flame and ember and shadow, head turned slightly as he outstretches his cybernetic arm, mailed fist clenched.

As he turns his head, his forearm springs open like a metal flower, splitting along it's seams into three even petals to reveal the barrel of a modified grenade pistol embedded in his forearm.

As the momentum of his kick carries him back from the devastator, he tucks himself into a ball to brace against the backsplash, and fires the grenade pistol into the devastator's chest. The munition punches straight through the machine's breastplate, detonating inside it's body, and bathing Gentry's armored form with licking flames and scorching heat.

DIALOGUE:

GENTRY (Internal Narrative): "-and the rest is as easy-"

GENTRY (Internal Narrative): "-as a Flick of the Wrist!"

Above the spirit's arms and head, burning red runes of magic split the air as the insectoid spirit goad on the flames with burning red eyes.

A painting of a masked man in foggy woods. The man's pale skin is covered in dirt and grime, wearing brown furs, a simple green cloth tunic and hood, and a wooden mask. Over his head, he holds a sharpened wooden staff, glowing with the same green light that glows in his eyes.

A painting of a forest fire as viewed from the ground. Many tall trees are burning, cast in dark shadow by the bright orange light of the fire, as sparks and embers dance in the wind.

Centered in the frame is an insectoid figure, long and lanky, like an ant with four limbs. It is standing on it's hind limbs on a fallen tree trunk, its ruddy brown carapace is ringed with light from the fire, shrouded in darkness from their brightness, all save for two pits of glowing red light from within their eyes. It's arms are outstretched, wide and lanky and ending in two sharpened claws.

Suspended above it, hovering in the air by magic, are bright red runes of arcane light, vivid enough to be visible even as the flames blow past the strange creature, not harming it in the least. In the background, several figures, much like the strange insectoid, wander through the flames of the forest.

In the bottom right corner is the following text, written in red and orange font the same color as the flames:

SPIRITS DIVINE

Orah, We inherited much from Olan's Firstborn, for we are SPIRITS OF WILL, and while we received the greatest gifts that Sepu, Vena, Arde and Hela could bestow, we are not their only Inheritors.

To protect the balance of nature, as their last act the Great Spirits gave back unto Olan their Dominion over the elements of Nature. This power, now seperated from that which bound it together, shattered into many shards. Where these shards fell, they took forms of their own, rising up to serve Olan their Creator. These are the many ELEMENTAL SPIRITS, and into their care Olan gave the wild places, deeps, and natural wonders of our world.
They are our erstwhile kin. our keepers.
ORAH, they are our JAILORS.

In an brick-floored room, a forge glows bright, its orange red light the only source of light. A hammer and tongs are leaned against the forge, ready to use. On a wooden table lays a strip of leather padding with fur. Next to it, a strap of lamellar plate, each tiny square of dull metal less than an inch wide, bound together by belts of leather. Next to that, two metal plates, strapped together with leather straps.

On the picture, the following text is super-imposed:
           A SUMMONER'S GARB

To be a Summoner is more dangerous than even the task of soldiering or hunting, as their work seeks out Spirits Divine, To parlay with such creatures is to court death, and the quintessence they gather from their quarry is impossibly valuable. thus it is that summoners are well-armed and clad in battle garb that befits their role and need.

Glades provide for our sustenance and survival, but not much more, and gathering what's needed to forge iron can risk upsetting the delicate balance upon which we depend. Thus, what scare metals are used in a Summoner's kit is used for crafting tools and weapons. Armor tends to be furs, leathers, and woven lamellar, with minimal metals used in their make.

In truth, this is also because against the might of Divine Magics and Primal Weaponry, a Summoner's survival lays with their speed, stealth and skill. Only the mightiest of Invokers will wear metal armor, and then, only those who prove worthy.

A painting. It depicts a forest clearing, at the edge of a village on a dark night. The village's grey stone structures are nearby, illuminated from within and without by the dim orange torchlight of guards and villagers in the distance.

In the dark, a great wolf-like spirit lays bleeding in the great, clearly in great distress. It's brown-tan fleshy body is covered in grey stone plates not unlike armor, and a brutal wedge-like horn of sharpened steel rises from its brow. From its side, wedged between it's backplates and drooling green blood, is a simple spear. It's eyes, the same glowing green as its blood, are partially closed.

By the beast's side is a humanoid figure wearing a farmer's robe, a wooden mask and a straw hat. Their hand rests on the beasts side, protectively, as their masked face is turned towards the village, concerned. At their side is a glowing pouch, the same color as the creature's blood.

Super imposed text on the page is as follows:

BALANCE
Orah, nothing is forever: no village stands eternal, no tower built will not fall, and even our covenant with olan lays broken. Yet, villages fallen can be rebuilt, leaning towers can be strengthened, and covenants broken may yet be renewed.
This is the calling of Summoners: To reach out with their will, and free the minds of our jailers, the Spirits Divine. To make new pacts, to free them and us from their Divine Mandate. To keep the balance of nature, that Spirits Will and Spirits Divine may live in peace.

This is our truest hope.
ORAH.

A painting of a dark night with two pale blue moons hanging in the sky. A city of stone and sculpted mud is in chaos, being overrun by monsters and people flee in the streets. Some monsters are akin to wolves with armored backs and swordlike horns, impaling people in the streets. Others are as giant dragonflies, shooting lighting from their limbs and burning roofs. Still others are humanoid flames, burning buildings amidst the chaos. Yet, more are like mountain liions with armored heads on stretching necks. And over all of them, towering beasts of stone stride through the chaos, casting down buildings as their baleful green eyes glow in the night.

The following text is superimposed on the image:

FALLEN GLADES

Orah, Olan was kind to us, gave us all we could ask for. Yet our ancestors broke the Covenant of the Godtree, and in doing, poisoned the well of life we all drink from.

Glades are places where two elements meet. Spirits Divine do not hunt us there, and in their shadow we can build homes, farm crops, and find some solace. They our havens, our shelter, and our prisons.
Yet, they are not unconditional. If we Spirits of Will do not preserve the balance of the Glade, if we take too much, grow too fast or too many, the blessed wards can collapse, and the Spirits Divine are called to them, to hunt us, and reclaim the glade for the wilds.
Orah, when glades fall, we can do little but RUN.

A painting of a massive tree growing in the middle of a deep forest. It's trunk, a mess of knots as smooth as clay and a shade of pale brown, splits just above the roots into two, each trunk twisting about each other in a massive helix reaching upwards into a massive canopy that towers above even the other trees nearby. It's roots, long and snakelike, grow from a rocky spring, a river of cool clear water bursting forth from beneath and over its roots.

Resting on it's roots in the bottom right of the picture is a single humanoid figure, a staff in its hand, utterly tiny to the tree that towers hundreds of feet above its head. Flying around it are three bird-like spirits, whose plumage and wings glow a supernaturally bright shade of yellow, and clambering over the stones on the far side of the tree is a massive stone spirit, shaped like a turtle with ice growing from it's back.
