Today is the 6th anniversary of the #Sandilands tram crash. I still think of those killed and injured. This was a tragedy that should never have happened. The tram may be safer now because fatigue management has been professionalised, but London bus safety is still unacceptable.
I welcome ORR's decision to prosecute TfL and First Group over health and safety failings that caused the #Sandilands crash. The Mayor and Croydon Labour have scandalously failed to support the families in their quest for justice; the inquest was a fiasco....

This from @NeilGarratt on the #Sandilands tram crash inquest is spot on. The coroner refused to call evidence from First Group or TfL, told the jury only the driver could be found culpable. A travesty - I feel for the families, who will no doubt fight...
OMG, yet more revelations about anomalies with TfL's handling of fatigue audits of the Croydon Tram in the period before and after the #Sandilands crash. Will @MayorofLondon finally launch an independent investigation? And if he won't, will @grantshapps? Seven Londoners died!
This November 9th will be the 4th anniversary of the #Sandilands tram crash, which killed 7 and injured 62. I committed at the time to ensure that all causes were properly investigated. Last Oct I wrote to RAIB to raise serious concerns about their report....
As for Commissioner Crocodile Tears "I am sad to say that 42 of our colleagues have passed away." Not including Taxi & Private Hire drivers under TfL license - how many have died? Failed on #GardenBridge. Failed on #Sandilands. Failed on #Crossrail. Failing on #Covid. Time to go!
