L’arco dei Faraglioni di Sant’Andrea, Salento, Puglia before its collapse.
The collapsed arco dei Faraglioni di Sant’Andrea – 15 Feb 2026. Salento, Puglia. Severe weather that has been battering the Adriatic coast for days has caused the collapse of the Sant’Andrea Faraglioni arch, one of the best-known natural landmarks of the Salento coastline. Heavy rainfall and rough seas over the past few hours are believed to have permanently compromised the stability of the structure. According to initial assessments, water infiltration and the constant impact of the waves accelerated an erosion process that had already been underway for some time. The arch remained one of the most frequented destinations for visitors, drawn by one of the most recognisable views along the coast.
