Fell down an art history rabbit hole and got pulled in by the story behind Sargent’s Madame X. I wanted to capture her beauty in my own way. The hands were more expressive than I expected which definitely humbled me, but I’m proud of how she turned out.

My study of "Roses" by Fantin-Latour, original 1894. Floral arrangement of many large, fully-open, some starting to droop roses in a glass vase. My study of Robert Henri's "Tam Gam" painted in 1914. Chinese girl of about 14 in traditional cross-collar blouse or robe, pale blue fastened with button below right shoulder. Her black hair is pinned up, attractively wispy/bushy with longer wisps falling around her ears outside small gold earrings with white drop pendants. She has a slightly shy, pleasant but reserved expression and faint smile.
