Here you have a swamp monster called Hugo. Who sometimes presents as a black and silver miniature schnauzer. He is standing on some grass looking up to the camera. He has a bit of a goofy look on his face. Perhaps because he is covered in mud from his paws up to his beard. His dapper orange bow tie is muddy. Hugo was having a lovely after work (his humans work, he doesn’t have a job) walk in the New Forest this afternoon, great running about, top quality sniffs, when a step in a puddle was actually a step into a bog. There he stood up to his beard in mud, a pleading look in his eyes. He managed to squelch himself out of it and continue his walk, with a fair amount of glee at his filthy state. The inevitable followed…a dreaded bath.

I ‘may’ have misjudged a puddle…🧡

Hugo the black and silver miniature schnauzer is walking through a muddy puddle on his Sunday morning walk in the New Forest. He’s got his tongue out a little relishing the joy of making the groom he had yesterday a distant memory. He didn’t even need to use Siggy Schnauzers top distraction tip, he just stomped through every muddy path and puddle he saw.

I’m pleased to report normal service has been resumed after yesterdays shocking groomerating episode. 🧡

'Tis me, #SiggySchnauzer, yawning widely so you can see about a third of my massively long tongue 👅 😜 and one tooth (I have loads! The rest are just obscured by my beard- honest!). My eyes are sparkling ✨️ 😍 Dad can back me up - my tongue can reach the bottom of a pint glass* 🍺, no problemo... just for the froth. Alcohol is poisonous to dogs (and humans actually!) so I'm NEVER given the proper juicy part (but might go for a crafty lick, if it's ever left unattended and within reach... ie it was once and I'm *willing* it to be again but he seems to have learnt his lesson!) PS: This was taken EARLY on Christmas morning 2025. I'm on my brown blanket on the sofa, resting against a navy Christmas cushion, which is decorated with a white print of a stylised Christmas tree with red baubles and a few white snowflakes.

Hugo will be back in the New Forest tomorrow, covered in mud and the usual forest detritus, so we will enjoy him being super clean and soft for a few hours at least.

Being a dashing young Schnauzer like myself, it’s important to keep on top of your beauty regime, that’s why today I had a blueberry facial, a beard trim, nails done and paws balmed. 🧡

Hugo the black and silver Miniature Schnauzer is leaping over a muddy puddle in the New Forest. He is side on to the camera, all paws off the ground, ears, tail and eyebrows up! We can’t remember how he landed this, but surely it was in the middle of that muddy puddle?!? His dad was on post walk clean up duties and somehow Hugo only got a leg and tummy rinse, not a full on bath. 🤔🧡

How I managed to swerve a full baff after I landed this leap yesterday is beyond me! Not complaining though! 🧡
