Gingerbread cookies and their real life counterparts; we have a spiky amphipod (like a shrimp with mohawk), a lugworm (worm with a fat end), a hermit crab whose googly eyes suggest it has forgotten to turn off the stove, a colony of Hydroids, a squid who in gingerbread looks a lot less menacing than IRL, a red worm that in Swedish s named the "red christmasgift-worm" as it looks like a giftwrapped package, and a chonky red sea star. All images by K. Kongshavn, except the live hydroid, which is made by L. Martell. The cookies were made by the fantastic participants on a #NorDigBryo bryozoa workshop

These glorious cookies were made by the fantastic #NorDigBryo participants on a bryozoa workshop in Bergen in November. May 2026 bring you good coworkers equally willing to rise to the occasion!
