#ScotlandsRainforest is globally important yet faces growing pressure from grazing animals, invasive non-native species & habitat fragmentation. @asrainforest.bsky.social partners have kick-started restoration and expansion through collaboration, dedication and a clear vision. 1/2

Scotland's rainforest is a precious habitat. It is threatened by deer overgrazing, invasive non-native species, and fragmentation. The next Scottish Government should build on the incredible foundations laid in the last Parliament and continue work to save #ScotlandsRainforest #MairTreesPlease

This steep site was cleared of Rhododendron ponticum last June. Only light regrowth so far and good potential for native ground flora to return as light reaches the woodland floor.
Restoration takes follow-up.

Essential tree safety work on veteran oak & elms on a steep slope above the A85 nr Oban - no easy task! It did allow us to remove non-native regen; this will help retain deep crowns & prevent shading of the lichen-rich communities #ScotlandsRainforest is known for. 👏 to our hardworking contractors!
This Atlantic hazelwood on the western edge of the island of Eigg is one of the rarest and most precious in #ScotlandsRainforest. These woods are often unrecorded so our team has been making site visits to rectify that this year. @asrainforest.bsky.social
