I’m testing out this seed starting method I saw and figured I’d try out root veggies to start. I put wax paper in between so no plastic got into this starting method. I want to try with cardboard too.

While checking on my transplanted Abe Lincoln tomatoes (which look good) I noticed the Dakil? Peppers from Baker Creek have kicked in. Also, hard to see, but Tropeana?? Baker Creek onions are growing. Now wishing I hadn't dumped some other Snails

8 rolls of fabric and potting are in a metal pan. 2 of the rolls are packed full of tomato seedlings while several of the other rolls have more sparse growth.
This picture shows some of the potted out seedlings. 6, 4-unit cell packs and 2, 4-cell peat pots rest on a metal baking tray. Each cell has a small green seedling and potting soil in it.
Potted out a bunch of tomato seedlings from my seed snails. Got a bit over 40 tomatoes, as well as 10 or so tomatillo and ground cherries from 2 1/2 rolls do they are very space efficient. So far, I consider them a win for seed starting. #seedsnails #seedlings #tomatoes ##victorygarden #zone6b

A fabric and potting soil roll that has a few, very small onion sprouts coming out in the middle of the roll.
A roll of black fabric and potting soil that has a few small green kale sprouts coming up along one part of the outer edge of the roll.
A group of around 25 expanding peat pots are in 5 rows of 5 pots, a black plastic tray. 7 in the front have large, intact seeds. The 3rd and 4th rows back have very small kale and onion sprouts in them.
Some perennial kale and multiplier onions are coming up in both the peat pots and my fabric snails. Not much of a noticeable difference yet, except my smaller tray of peat pots is going moldy, so the rolls are gaining points. #seeds #seedstarting #gardening #seedsnails #garden2025 #foodgarden
I am loving the seed snails. The trays are easy to rotate to make sure the seedlings don’t lean too far one way.
